How I tied the knot with medicine?

Myself— Adithya Acharya S, currently a 4th Year student in TMA, successfully surviving the roller coaster rides in my Medicine career.

Personal favorites to do— listening to music, reading books, passion— to pursue medicine and life seriously.

A Glimpse of an Amazing Journey of the Past 4 years…

The one with the new country I explored and got sustained…

So basically, this is very personal, but when I left my country, I thought this was a very new beginning, the next chapter in my life, right from the moment I landed at Tbilisi Airport, I was indeed just awestruck by the magnificent life ahead of me waiting for me to explore it. Right from the first day I still remember clearly, when I made my first call to my parents post settling down in my new house and my roommates/ my extended family, they just asked whether I was doing fine or did I face any difficulty accustoming to the new chilled out atmosphere, I just replied with a pause that I’m fine and it all went fine, though there were initial struggles with the technical things of getting into a new country and managing it all, it’s a common thing, but what matters is the experience. And of course, when I talk about the first days, I cannot forget about my first step in TMA, the roads were broad and my eyes were wide staring at the wooden building of TMA, I took a gasp, got to know my batch mates and the staff was so friendly that in no time I became all of Georgia. And yes, of course, the intent of studying for quizzes and getting prepared for midterms and final exams, and yes surprisingly I would not brag about this but I was, I’m and I hope I remain to get out of the hall after every exam first, which my friends always have pointed out, but I don’t know maybe because of my optimistic attitude or you call it luck the first and second semester were just about studying. And I must say I’m not exaggerating, though I think like I missed on various things in the first year, I would perfectly denote it as a perfect blend and balance of studying and enjoying new places, culture and many more.

The one where the library became my home…

Seriously, the third semester is always just like one of the chambers of the heart, which I will always be proud of. In medicine they say the one with the maximum knowledge of basics can understand the human body physiologically and pathologically very well, then I must say I contributed and grasped maximum knowledge this semester. This semester was not just a part of the year, but it’s just a mere emotion of peaceful studying, and the compassion of learning the craft of concentrating and focusing for hours, which I think is the most important for anyone to grasp knowledge post prioritized set of things. With a lifetime of experience, I had which perfectly blended my studies and having time out to explore what life is.

The one where I started learning from the screen…

Exactly, this is the condition till now mostly, as it’s said every coin has two sides, now comes the bigger another side, the pandemic hit the world hard, and it hit the entire education system harder, studying online then became a boon but it also had its drawback, but thankful to TMA we utilized the technology very wisely and gained knowledge through it. Like most of us, I returned to my house, got pampered well, and was also a different space of time, where the pandemic hit us hard it all once again proved the sanctity, essentialism, and the culture of the healthcare system, which made me proud of all the doctors, nurses and healthcare providers out there. This experience made me feel confident that yes, I took a great decision to devote my life to such a great and t responsible profession. And fifth and sixth semesters went with such great subjects as pharmacology, knowing new drugs, memorizing Katzung was fun (hope I return most of it till the end), identifying slides of a robin, understanding surgery, and interpreting X-rays and CTs in radiology.

The one where we started rotating hospitals…

So, this was the seventh semester where it all started, the way of studying, the way of assessment, the way to exploring the city, getting to know about the patients, though it all started brilliantly, as we say life is all about ups and downs. The only thing I always believe is that Life is tough, Medicine is tough, but when you tie a few knots in your life with certain things, it becomes a permanent commitment, and believing in yourself, and trusting your ideas of whatever life you have given a shape in your mind is always what matters to you. The proudness we feel as we say let the head stick to the body straight neither should it leave while success and nor should it bend when experiencing a failure.

The one with the half ending…

So, closing the short Time Lapse of my experience of four years in Georgia, I hope you too had an interesting time reading it, because it was, while me crafting this sculpture which is solely based on my experiences. Hoping for great amazing years ahead for one and all.

“Hope you all too have great experiences like me and May wonderful future doctors boon the world”.

To the ones with the beautiful souls out there.

“So, perceive well, live well”
